ARDA-ROC Government Affairs

ARDA-ROC serves as the voice of more than four million owners in Washington, DC and in state capitals across the country.  

ARDA-ROC is the first line of defense against legislation that may negatively impact timeshare owners. Through ARDA-ROC, owners are a part of an effective grassroots lobbying coalition of timeshare unit owners dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing vacation ownership.

The ARDA-ROC government affairs team has a strong record of successfully advocating on behalf of policies allowing for the vitality of the industry while protecting the vacation ownership experience.  ARDA-ROC works with legislators and regulators at all levels of government to educate policy makers and ensure fair treatment across the broad range of issues that impact timeshare owners.

NON-JUDICIAL FORECLOSURE 

ARDA-ROC supports non-judicial foreclosure laws which provide strong consumer protection provisions. Click here for details

TRANSFER/RELIEF COMPANY LEGISLATION AND REGULATION 
ARDA-ROC supports legitimate transfers of timeshare interests to those who intend to assume all costs and obligations of ownership. Click here for details. 

TIMESHARE OWNER PRIVACY LAWS 
ARDA-ROC supports responsible privacy protection for the personal information of owners that also preserves the ability of owners to participate in legitimate association (HOA) business. Click here for details. 

TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX 
ARDA-ROC firmly believes that the use of a timeshare unit by an owner or exchange guest should not be taxed like a rental and opposes all efforts to impose such taxes on an occupancy that generates no revenues. Click here for details.
